Our Mission

The Baton Rouge Scandinavia Association offers support groups and a variety of fun activities for its members. The society sponsors activity groups, holiday activities, trips, evening events, and volunteer activities.

History

Founded in 2005 by Baton Rouge legal translator Karl Hedman, a Swedish Native from Trädet, Ulricehamn's municipality, Västra Götaland, west Sweden who is also the first president.

The Association sponsors many activities including genealogy discussions, gourmet cooking, networking, Scandinavian language conversations, luncheons, dinners, seminars, and tours. The different groups in the BRSA have been a valuable way for members not only to create their own local support networks but to make life long friends. We provide shared warmth, support, fun and motivation to its members and their families living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
